Job Summary
The essential responsibilities of the SR SQL Server Database
Administrator are:
• Providing assistance in the development and performance
tuning of GHX applications,
• Monitoring, maintaining and deploying production databases
• Troubleshooting system issues in production.
This cross-functional role requires working with GHX staff,
including developers, system administrators, QA engineers, customer
service representatives, and product managers. This position will
ensure GHX applications utilizing SQL Server run smoothly and
perform as required, and strive to achieve 99.9% uptime. This
position is also expected to provide guidance and assistance to
junior database administrators.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, develop and implement core SQL Server administration
activities, including: backups, performance monitoring and tuning,
patching, upgrading, etc.
• Support SDLC release process by reviewing, approving, and
deploying production system releases during normal system
maintenance windows
• Troubleshoot SQL Server system level issues such as crashes
due to device failures, corruption, lock handling, backup /
recovery, etc. and make recommendations to Product Management and IT
Management for resolving the issues
• Assist development teams in the logical and physical
database design, including table and index design, query analysis,
and physical file layout (file groups, fill factors, etc).
• Provide rotating on call 24/7 operation support.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred or 6 years active experience in
SQL Server Administration
• Good verbal and written communication skills required
• MCDBA / MCST Certification preferred
• Demonstrated ability to administer and support SQL Server
installations (2000 and 2005)
• Demonstrated ability to install and maintain SQL Server on
clustered servers
• Strong SQL query and stored procedure (TSQL) development
skills required
• DTS – Data Transformation Service package knowledge
• Experience using third-party SQL Server administration
tools, such as RedGate
• Experience in troubleshooting SQL Server system level issues
such as: crashes due to device failures, corruption, lock handling,
recovery, etc.

Job Summary
The Oracle database group administers the Oracle databases for
multiple business units. This position will provide timely and
quality database services and problem resolution for internal and
external customers, manage release database efforts in direct

support to our production and development teams. Perform Oracle
installations, upgrades, migrations, file organizations and back-
ups/restores. Install and integrate data access tools such as
Oracle client and SQL net. Review and recommend database capacity
and performance improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensuring the quality, consistency and security of company
data and database systems
• Performing database upgrades, installing RDBMS patches and
troubleshooting Oracle database issues.
• Backup and recovery, performance tuning, monitoring, and
