The Senior Oracle DBA will be responsible for supporting Hosted Oracle database environments.
Responsibilities:
- Installation, configuration, patching and administration of Hosted Oracle databases.
- Monitoring systems for performance, stability and capacity.
- Backup and recovery of hosted Oracle databases.
- Performing Database refreshes.
- Upgrading of existing Oracle databases to newer releases of the software.
- Requesting SAN and NAS iscsi LUNs when appropriate.
- Supporting some custom pl/sql code.
- Working and assisting others on incident resolution.
- Supporting a number of production, test and development databases. Supporting users, application administrators and developers for Oracle databases.
- After hours on-call support. Monthly maintenance weekend support.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree and OCP certification.
- 7+ years of Oracle DBA with at least 5 years of production DBA support and 2 years as a development DBA.
- Knowledge of installing and administering Oracle on the UNIX platform; AIX 5 experience a plus.
- Experience with both Oracle 9i and 10G.
- Experience with terabyte plus environments including large partitioned tables.
- Strong database and SQL tuning skills.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
- Strong backup and recovery skills. Experience with configuring, scripting and administrating RMAN. Experience using Dataguard and log miner.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager event system.
- Experienced with SQL, pl/sql and UNIX shell scripting; SQL loader; stored Java a plus.
- Working knowledge of storage including SAN, NAS, volume managers, disk stripping and mirroring.
