Responsibilities:


* Research problem tickets to resolve data, setup, and code issues
to provide responsive correction of issues.
* Perform root cause analysis on issues that lead to
implementation of processes to prevent repetitive issues

* Maintain and improve performance, reliability

Qualifications:


* 0 - 2 years experience in a Tier II Application Support role, or
equivalent
* 4 year college degree in IS or related field or equivalent
experience.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong Windows scripting skills
* Excellent diagnostic, debugging, and problem solving skills
* Familiarity with Visual Basic 6 and Microsoft .NET (C#, VB).
* Understanding of servers, networks, security, client/server
model in a Windows Server 2003 environment
* Strong understanding of MS SQL Server or other relational
databases including stored procedure development.
* Must have a solid understanding of IIS 6 and above
* Must have an understanding of Classis ASP
* Ability to communicate with various levels of technical

Digital Video Headend Engineer

The Digital Video Headend Engineer, Systems Evaluation is responsible
for all headend configuration management and system integration for
all SE related initiatives. This individual will work closely with
engineers from CableLabs, participating vendors and visiting
engineers to ensure that all CableLabs headends have the needed
configuration and functionality to support vendor's development
efforts and conduct certification testing. The Digital Video Headend
Engineer will be responsible for working with the various projects to
determine new requirements and work with the headend equipment
vendors to come up with solutions and designs to support new
capabilities. This individual must be comfortable in a lab
environment and have strong problem solving skills to analyze various
hardware and software issues.

FUNCTIONS
- Manage all headend configurations that are associated with any and
all initiatives such as OpenCable, OCAP, DSG and DOCSIS.
- Work with the various project groups within CableLabs to determine
new capabilities needed on the headends to support new development
and testing requirements.
- Working with the headend and other equipment vendors, to determine,
design and document new headend configurations needed to implement
new equipment, headend controllers, application servers, support
servers and serve as the main contact to outside vendors who are
concerned with headend integration.
- Document and track the detailed configuration for the lab
environment.
- Configure and run digital video headend equipment, network
equipment, network management equipment and track all software
releases for headend controller in support of interoperability and
certification events.

QUALIFICATIONS
