Essential Functions Summary:
Develop JEE applications as well as standalone Java applications that support the enterprise.​
Actively participate in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Methodology of analysis, requirements gathering and documentation, design, development, code reviews, integration and release management.​
Provide active leadership and mentoring to other developers while providing innovation and new ideas.​
Actively participate in and demonstrate support of all Colorado Access and department quality initiatives and the department communication strategy.​

Requirements/​Experience:

B.​S.​ in Computer Science and five years progressive work experience in a related field.​
5+​ years experience developing Java applications and Oracle or MS SQL Server.​
Advanced understanding of JEE development patterns.​
Experience with JSR-168 or JSR-286 Portal frameworks and servers such as JBoss, Liferay, WebSphere or WebLogic.​
Experience with Spring MVC and Dependency Injection, Struts and JSF.​
Experience working with JSP, HTML, AJAX, XML and CSS.​
Experience working with web service (SOAP, REST) architectures is a plus.​

Experience/Skills Required


5+ years experience on Java based enterprise critical business applications as an IT system administrator, system engineer, application developer or system analyst is required.

Experience with SQL and Oracle databases preferred.

Knowledge of Oracle 11g SOA application stack preferred.

Duties and Responsibilties:

Nature of Position:
This person will provide application configuration and design, requirements analysis, system testing, user training, and ongoing support and enhancements of the CHFA enterprise document management solution (OnBase). This person will also lead large-scale enterprise initiatives to bring advanced imaging solutions to CHFA

Functional

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Denver Public Schools is seeking a detail-oriented individual with proven leadership abilities to manage the district’s data network and security team

DPS is one of the 50 largest school districts in the country and consists of 147 facilities; all connected via a fiber Wide Area Network (WAN).​ The Local Area Network (LAN) consists of approximately 1,280 miles of Category 6 data cabling, which supports approximately 91,000 network connections and over 12,000 telephones.​

The DPS Network (DPSNet) is a municipal routed IP network using a hub and spoke design.​ There are 84 sites connected with Qwest Metropolitan Optical Ethernet (QMOE).​ There are 41 sites connected with Comcast’s Institutional Network (INET).​ Seven (7) sites are connected to DPSNet via dark fiber.​ Four (4) sites are connected via a Qwest DS1 point to point to the Districts Primary Data Center

This position will manage a network team of ten staff responsible for supporting network communications for one of Colorado’s largest private networks

Responsible for network design and implementation

Assists in managing the district’s FCC E-Rate program.​ This includes facilitating all network-based RFP’s, compiling the SLD application forms, coordinating all equipment and services deployment, managing all vendor invoices, and ensuring full program compliance.​

Individual will be responsible for Network/​Datacom project management.​ Major projects starting in the next year are:
I.​ Cisco Call Manager VoIP/​Unified Communications implementation (including the replacement of 12,000 handsets at 147 facilities).​ Three year project.​

Oversees the procurement and proper implementation and use of network monitoring and management tools

Researches and evaluates new technologies and tools that will provide improved features/​functionality for DPS network and positively impacting school classrooms

Facilitates goal setting and employee performance evaluations for the network department staff

Facilitates network departments submission to the SLD E-Rate program

The Business Analyst works with technical and non-technical teams and must communicate effectively according to the audience.​ The ideal candidate is comfortable with a high degree of change and is capable of working in either a traditional (waterfall) or agile development and project management environment.​

Summary
Responsible for negotiating various Rights-of-Way and 3rd Party infrastructure (fiber & conduit) agreements in support of the expansion of Level 3's fiber-optic network. This includes managing numerous complex projects, not limited to the following: projects involving network growth and integrity, acquisition and use of third party assets (including utility poles, conduits and dark fiber), acquisition and post execution management of rights-of way, franchise and other licenses necessary for the placement and operation of the network. *Acts as OSP project manager for those assigned construction projects within the Contract Manager's territory.
